Three ketchup bottles become the starting point for an expressive mixed media painting packed with color, texture and movement. Bold reds anchor the composition while greens, yellows, blues and fragments of collage push through the surface.
Rather than carefully rendering the bottles, I used the repeated shapes as a framework for exploring loose drawing, layered paint and abstraction. Scraped passages, visible marks and bits of collage allow the painting process to remain part of the finished piece.
