Box Construction Assignment: 10 Timed Head Drawings
*You've learned the theory. Now it's time to practice. This timed assignment gives you 10 poses at 5 minutes each to apply skull construction, box method, and everything you've learned so far. No overthinking - just draw.*

Time to put everything together. You've learned skull construction. You've learned box method. You've studied the masters. Now do the work.
Did you know? This lesson is part of a complete step-by-step head drawing course. If you haven't watched from the beginning I highly recommend you do so to get the most out of this lesson.
Video is below, but first let's cover the assignment rules and such...
How This Assignment Works
10 poses. 5 minutes each. 51 minutes total.
For each pose, you'll:
- Start with the skull structure (egg shape, proportions, angles)
- Add box construction (corners, planes, position in space)
- Place features using what you've learned
There's a 10-second warning bell before each pose ends. Have at least 3 sharp pencils ready before you start.
Why This Matters
Theory is useless without practice.
You can watch a hundred tutorials, but until you actually draw under time pressure - making decisions, placing lines, handling angles - you won't internalize any of this.
Five minutes forces you to think fast. No overthinking. No erasing forever. Just construct and move on.
What You'll Learn
- How to work quickly without sacrificing structure
- Which angles still trip you up
- Where your construction falls apart under pressure
- How much you've actually absorbed from the lessons
After you finish: Compare your drawings to the student examples in the video. See different approaches. Learn from mistakes (yours and theirs).
Then watch me do the exact same assignment in real-time.
Ready? Grab your pencils. Hit play. Start drawing.
