The System: Construct to Deconstruct
You don’t have a drawing problem. You have a thinking problem. Build structure, break it apart with intention, then use time and repetition to draw simpler, looser, and more expressive.
Construct → Deconstruct → Progress.
This is the process behind the entire Deconstruction Lab. Build it with understanding, break it apart, then push it with time until it falls apart and you learn to recover it.
What you’ll practice
- Constructing and deconstructing simple and complex subjects
- Timed progressions (2 min, 1 min, 30 sec)
- Drawing two and three objects: spacing and decisions
- Line variety from the wrist, elbow, and shoulder
- Angles vs. curves
- Pushing a drawing until it breaks, then recovering it
How it works: 16 lessons, 7 assignments, self-paced with draw-along demos.
